She Came to Save Others, But God Saved Her

 |

Cities4Life is a ministry to the unborn in danger of being murdered in an abortion. That is our focus. Our guiding principle is to glorify God and proclaim the Gospel. We believe and share the transformative message of Jesus who died to pay the penalty for our sin that we deserved and then rose again to conquer death. Our goal is to save babies, but also to be the bearers of this wonderful good news to the abortion-minded moms. This amazing testimony from one of our counselors demonstrates that our ministry does not only touch the mothers and their unborn children. Be blessed as you read this humble woman’s moving story.

Hi. I’m Kyndra.

Out on the sidewalks of the abortion mill, I heard the gospel for the first time. I had no knowledge of what sin is, and how holy God is. Church tradition taught me that I needed to do good works, dress modestly and work hard, etc. That was what I knew to be God’s law, and I felt that I was following it well. I was convinced that being “good” was my very purpose in life.

My sister invited me to minister on the sidewalks of the abortion center saying, “As a Christian, you CANNOT ignore the issue of abortion.” My prideful heart agreed with her. I had not committed any major sins. I felt I had every right to judge women killing their babies. I needed to go show everyone how good a Christian I was.

Of course, if you have a heart that’s been made new by our blessed King Jesus, you know that NOBODY is good or could ever be, only God himself! How ironic that I wanted to tell others about Jesus, yet I didn’t truly know him myself.

Upon arrival at the sidewalks, I immediately felt self-conscious. Seeing other people lovingly speak truth without compromise struck my heart so deeply. How could they do that without feeling the guilt and weight of their own mistakes? I knew something was wrong, that I did not have the peace and confidence that these other Christians had. I was drowning in self-righteousness, hypocrisy and deeply depressed.

Cities4life’s loving members showed me how to be a real Christian, by sharing the Gospel. By GOD’S grace and mercy, I saw the light of the Gospel, how precious Christ is, and how wicked and lost I am without Him. The heavy burden of guilt and despair was lifted and my heart made new. While attempting to preach life, I was raised to life. Praise God!

Kyndra and some of the sidewalk team

God has called Cities4Life volunteers to proclaim the Gospel and to save babies from abortion. Our volunteers, like Kyndra, serve Him faithfully and selflessly day after day. Though Kyndra may have come to the sidewalks with a wrong motive God graciously used that exposure to the Gospel to truly turn her heart to Him and then began to use her right away to proclaim His Gospel to others. God has used Kyndra in mighty ways and He will do the same for you. Is He calling you to be a voice for the voiceless? Click here to get more information about volunteering with Cities4Life.
