People Heard the Gospel

As a Gospel-centered ministry Cities4Life™️  volunteers and staff work tirelessly to make sure no woman goes into an abortion center without hearing of the Hope and Help that comes through the Lord and His people. We hope this monthly newsletter will be an encouragement as you see what God is doing through this ministry.

A Baby Shower Far Away

As many of you know our main ministry in Cities4Life is to be a Gospel-centered presence at the local abortion centers. However, we do have a baby shower ministry to help meet the needs of those who choose LIFE. Our partnership with Truth and Mercy ministries is our primary resource for baby showers, but we’ve seen so many babies saved that we had to start our own baby shower ministry to keep up (that’s a good problem to have).

Some of you may remember the story of Julia*. If not check out this article. Long story short, Julia chose LIFE and to follow Jesus in February this year, but she was made homeless because of that decision. We helped fund her transportation to South Dakota so she could be with her supportive family. Donations covered basic needs such as a warm winter coat. When her baby was born Julia realized she didn’t have many of the things she needed. With the distance being so far we couldn’t load up a van, like we normally do, and bring the items to her. Our baby shower director, Sara, had a great idea: Let’s start an Amazon wish-list and put it out on social media to see if folks are interested in helping out. The items would be shipped directly to her.

Wow, you guys really came through! Just a few hours after we shared the need, every item on the list was purchased and sent.  Several other people asked if they could help too so Sara decided to add more items to the list. When it was all said and done, Julia and her baby were surrounded by gifts. The tangible love of God and His church was evident.

Though we didn’t get the pleasure of giving her a baby shower you guys made sure she got one even though she is thousands of miles away. Thank you!!!

November Volunteer Spotlight

Davina is one of our new volunteers that feels so strongly God wants her ministering to abortion-minded mothers that she drives four hours each way to train with and volunteer with us. You will understand when you read her compelling story below.

It’s easy to give advice regarding what someone else SHOULD DO or what you believe you would do in their shoes, but it’s totally different when IT’S HAPPENING TO YOU. Because of fear, I acted in a way that was against everything I ever believed.

When we found out we had a little bun in the oven, I was 26, and freaking out! Michael, my boyfriend at the time, had the craziest nervous smile when he first saw the positive test, so the feelings were mutual.

We thought Michael medically “couldn’t” give me a child, and deceived ourselves that what we were doing was alright since we wouldn’t conceive. Boy, oh boy were we wrong on both accounts. Read more…

Coming this Month…

The weather is quickly turning cold but our wonderful volunteers will be on the sidewalk as long as the doors to the abortion centers are open.  Pray for the grace to stand in spite of the weather. Also, our partner ministry, Love Life, has its final prayer walk of the year coming up on November 16. If you haven’t experienced a prayer walk, or even if you have, plan to attend that event. There will be literally thousands of believers from hundreds of churches at the Latrobe abortion center to pray and intercede.

In our “Gospel-Centered Pro-Life” podcast this month we’ll cover some important and helpful topics. Here are a few subjects we’ll tackle:

“Should we try to end abortion immediately or incrementally?”

“How to talk with your prochoice family and friends about abortion.”

Will you be a Champion4Life? Cities4Life needs your support. We had a goal last month to raise up 20 Champions4Life, which are monthly supporters of this ministry. Unfortunately, we didn’t meet that goal so we will extend it into October. Can you come alongside us with a monthly gift of $25, $35, or $75? Click here to get more information.
