We are THRILLED! to bring you this exciting update from our LifeNetwork partner, HELP Crisis Pregnancy Center. We are so blessed to partner with this amazing organization to continue finding new ways to breathe LIFE into our city!
The Bible says in James chapter 2 that if you see another person in need and all that you offer them is to say “Go in peace, be warm and filled”, but you don’t actually HELP them, then what good is offering a verbal blessing? This is our strong conviction here at the H.E.L.P. Crisis Pregnancy Center.
When a woman comes aboard our mobile ultrasound unit in Charlotte, or if she walks through our doors here in Monroe, we don’t just offer verbal blessings. We don’t just give her a free ultrasound and then send her on her way. She might need a shoulder to cry on…she might have hungry children with her…she might think she’s pregnant and needs an ultrasound…maybe her older child needs clothes or a booster seat. We do everything that we possibly can to walk this out with her and let her know by our actions that she is not alone. And now we are so excited that we get to extend all this another step further.
It has been 2 years in the making, and even longer than that on our hearts, as of January 2016, the doors officially open to our new Medical Clinic at HELP Crisis Pregnancy Center in Monroe! God has been doing a great work in the hearts and lives of people up at the Charlotte abortion clinics and in our Center, and now we anticipate to see even more greatness from Him as we are able to offer this to our women who need it, and who choose life for their baby!
We are so glad to have our wonderful doctor on the scene, and he is excited to be here with us offering help to these moms! Dr. Matt Harrison is a board certified Family Practice Physician and has been practicing in North Carolina since 2001. He is the Associate Medical Director of Culture of Life Family Services. He has served as Hospitalist Director of Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina. He graduated from the College of William and Mary with BS and MA degrees, The Medical College of Virginia/VCU with his MD degree and completed residency at University of South Alabama. He serves as a Medical Advisor to Priests for Life and is the Medical Director of the student health clinic at Belmont Abby College as well as an Instructor at Campbell School of Osteopathic Medicine. He and his wife Kathleen have 7 children and reside in Mount Pleasant, North Carolina. Grateful are our hearts for the giving and outpouring of love that we see in Dr. Matt and his family. His work will be such a blessing to our clients!
We are already taking appointments this month, even though there is still work to be done as we bring reality to the vision. There is still a great need for more doctors to come on board, as we visualize the Medical Clinic expanding. We are calling out for volunteers to help with the receptionist desk, and we are asking for more RNs, PAs, NPs and the like to join us in our efforts here!
All services provided by the Medical Clinic will be 100% free to our clients, and this comes with a financial need from those in our community that can help. We are looking for monthly financial contributors, and possibly giving church groups or Sunday school classes the option to sponsor a patient through her 9 months of medical assistance.
If you have any questions for working in our Medical Clinic, we will be glad to connect you with our Medical Director. Or if you have questions on what sponsoring a patient for 9 months looks like, please call our office at 704.289.5133.
There are several avenues that we are praying about, and we ask that you join us in prayer for our Medical Clinic. Just like every part of our ministry, we want God’s hand to be in this, too. Will you prayerfully see how you can join us?
